Nightriders The Battle Continues Part 30

            “Hog prints!” shouted Brutus. Axl and Iggy looked behind themselves to find that Brutus had stopped walking to observe multiple hoof prints in the ground.

             “Great. We must be getting close to the Hogga tribe,” groaned Iggy.

            “Perhaps we should continue our search in another direction?” suggested Brutus. "We don’t wanna have to deal with the Hogga’s unless we have to.”

            “We have to,” said Axl reluctantly, picking up an all too familiar cracked yellow Turtle Beats mp3 player from one of the hoof prints.

            As they continued following the hoof prints, it became evident that they were on a well-worn path embedded around the weeds. However, the scenery was less than welcoming with blood painted totem poles and skulls adorning the path. Before proceeding any further, Brutus convinced Axl and Iggy to temporarily deviate from their mission and equip themselves with weapons. From the materials of the jungle’s natural environment Brutus used his survival knowledge to help Axl and Iggy create spears.

            “Man, Brutus! This is sick!” said Iggy as he marveled over the craftsmanship of his weapon.
             Brutus waved off the compliment. “Yeah, well you just better hope you don’t have to use it. The Hogga’s have been using spears for over a millennium and have mastered their use in combat. To be honest, I’m pretty sure none of us would stand a chance.” Iggy put his hand over the end of Brutus’ crocodile snout “Dude, Brutus! What’s with all the negative waves today?" Brutus frowned and gently removed Iggy’s hand to free his mouth.

            “Not being negative. Just being honest. And Iggy, do you really have to… "
             Suddenly, Axl’s attention diverted from the conversation when his tongue alerted him to a familiar scent causing his eyes to light up with excitement. “Lucinda!” He immediately took off running through the jungle. Iggy and Brutus looked at one another and shrugged before taking off after him.
